Running campaigns

Why did my campaign launch without one of its channels?

If one optional channel can't run, Adwave launches the rest of your campaign and tells you which channel was left out and how to add it back.

What happens when a channel can't launch?

When you press Launch and one of your optional channels can't run yet, Adwave leaves that channel out and launches the rest of the campaign. It doesn't refuse the whole launch.

You see a message that starts with "Launch accepted." and names each channel that didn't launch, why, and how to bring it back. The change is also recorded in the campaign's activity.

Launch is refused only when no channel at all could run. Your draft and its settings are kept, so you can fix the problem and launch again.

Why was a channel left out?

  • Audience sync is off. Facebook and Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit need Audience sync. Turn it on in Tracking, under Your customers.
  • Nothing in the campaign builds the channel's audience. Some channels show ads only to people who already saw your ads. They need Mobile web, Mobile apps, Google Search, or an imported customer list in the same campaign.
  • The ad upload for that channel is missing. If you chose to upload your own ads, each channel needs a file in a format it accepts. Upload it in Your ads.

How do I add the channel back?

  1. Fix the reason named in the message.
  2. Open the campaign plan and go to Where your ads run.
  3. Turn the channel back on and save.

What if a channel doesn't start after launch?

Sometimes a channel is accepted at launch but can't be set up. The campaign still goes live on the other channels. The Channels & delivery card marks that channel Didn't start, and the campaign shows a note such as "1 channel didn't start; the others are live." Our team is alerted and works on it. You don't need to relaunch.

Am I charged for a channel that didn't run?

You are charged for the campaign day, not per channel. Your daily budget goes to the channels that launched. Any part of the day's budget that doesn't run is credited back to your wallet, usually the next morning. If no channel goes live on launch day, the full day is refunded.
