Install on Wix

Add the Adwave tracking snippet with Wix Custom Code, publish your changes, and verify your installation.

First, copy your snippet

Your snippet is one line of code that looks like this, with YOUR_SITE_TOKEN replaced by a code that is unique to your website:

Get the real one from your Adwave account: sign in to copy your site's snippet. You'll land on the Tracking page, which shows your personalized snippet with a Copy snippet button. Each website (business) in your account has its own snippet. If you run more than one site, pick the right one with the switcher at the top of the page. Copy it there, then follow the steps below.

Add the snippet in Wix

  1. Go to your site's dashboard on Wix (not the editor).
  2. In the left menu, click Settings, then scroll to Custom Code (under "Development & integrations").
  3. Click + Add Custom Code.
  4. Paste your snippet into the code box.
  5. Name it Adwave so you can recognize it later.
  6. Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and select Load code once. (The Adwave tag detects page changes by itself. Reloading it on every page can duplicate events.)
  7. Under Place Code in, choose Head.
  8. Click Apply.

If you don't see Custom Code

Wix custom code requires a published site with a connected domain. Connect your domain before adding the snippet. See Wix's custom code instructions for the current requirements.

Check that it's working

  1. Open your website in a new browser tab and load any page.
  2. Go back to the Tracking page in Adwave (you'll be asked to sign in if you aren't already). The banner at the top turns green on its own when your first visit arrives, usually within a few seconds. No need to reload the page.

To test the installation, click Send a test ping, then Open your site with the test link. The health card reads Receiving as soon as the tag on your page answers. If it does not, the card says what to check next.

If the banner stays amber after a minute, re-check the steps above: the most common causes are pasting the example snippet instead of your personalized one, or forgetting to save or publish the change.
